Why Abby started Y-City Telemedicine
During her years in urgent care, Abby saw what patients put up with in traditional clinics: long waits, high fees, crowded waiting rooms, and rushed visits. She started her own practice to offer care that's fast, convenient, affordable, and thorough.
Abby launched her independent practice, Abby Guirguis, APRN-CNP, LLC, in 2022 as Tropical Telemedicine in Florida. In 2025, she opened Y-City Telemedicine to serve patients in her home state of Ohio.
Education and experience
- Born and raised in Zanesville, Ohio
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, University of Cincinnati College of Nursing (2011)
- Graduate degree, The Ohio State University College of Nursing (2016)
- 14 years of nursing experience, including 9 years as a family nurse practitioner
- Experience in surgical and urgent care settings, with most of her advanced practice career in urgent care
- Previously worked at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and its ambulatory clinics, Cleveland Clinic, WellNow Urgent Care, and Sarasota Memorial Urgent Care
- Clinical instructor and preceptor for graduate nursing students
Outside of work
Abby enjoys cooking, boating, traveling, and running. She loves dogs and spends as much time as she can with her Golden Retriever, Griffin, who follows her everywhere.
